The KISTI Supercomputing Center is collaborating with ten institutes and industries that can provide Supercomputing resources to local researchers in the fields of science and technology: the ten members are the Korea Meteorological Administration, Tong-Myung University of Information Technology, Busan National University, Seoul National Univeristy, Chonbuk National University, POSTECH, KISTI, Kumho Co., Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, and Myongji University. Grid Supercomputing and PC cluster will be deployed among these institutions and by the year 2003, part of the resources will be provided for the development of 6T-Technology projects led by KOSEF, and provided for student users at the universities free of charge.

Through these collaborations, we have provided an environment where the supercomputing resources can be shared, co-developed, and specialized according to the characteristics of each institute. Through such progress achieved in the research environment, we intend to construct a strategical IT infrastructure. Research projects that are run on the supercomputing resources and networks will be well organized due to our efforts. Thus, we will bring about achievements in the development of high-end technologies such as BT and NT, which will increase the nation's competitiveness in the global economy as well as in global technologies. Above all, by building such collaboration, we have prepared the basis upon which to carry out our national Grid projects most effectively.
